It has been described as "Spinal Tap meets Scooby-Doo meets Norway". The series was originally pitched as Deathclock, but the name could not be used due to an existing trademark. The show and the main characters' band were then renamed Dethklok. The show's title was then extended to Death Clock Metalocalypse, although the starring band still retained the name Dethklok. The crew finally shortened the title to Metalocalypse because the extended show title was too complicated.

The show's first season consists of twenty eleven-minute episodes, the first of which premiered on the Adult Swim Fix on August 4, 2006, and on Adult Swim proper the following Sunday. According to AdultSwim, Metalocalypse has been renewed for a second season consisting of twenty episodes to begin airing September 23, 2007, which is one week before the CD release. The Metalocalypse premiere was the #1 rated show in its timeslot among males aged 18-34, and earned the network's best premiere delivery and ratings to date in 2006. Among the top ad-supported basic cable programs of the week, Metalocalypse ranked #12 among men 18-34 and #6 among men 18-24. The series premiere ranked #30 for the week among adults 18-34.

Overview
Metalocalypse follows the exploits of the part-American/part-Scandinavian metal band Dethklok. Although the name is usually spelled "Dethklok," almost all of the band logos have it spelled as "Dëthkløk." Dethklok follows true-to-life metal styling, one example being their death metal-oriented song, "Mermaider," about "mermaid murder." They enjoy a popularity level unheard of in reality, being "the twelfth largest economy on Earth." They are so popular that their fans will do anything their songs tell them, even if it means death. If Dethklok endorses a company, it instantly becomes the only source for the product it happens to sell, as every competitor is quickly driven out of business. The band's unnatural popularity has attracted the attention of an Illuminati-style group, known as the Tribunal. Each episode sees this group attempt to covertly thwart the band by calling in various "specialists", such as a "military pharmaceutical psychotropic drug manufacturers", "celebrity depression specialists" or various psychopaths that attempt to infiltrate the group. It is alluded to on the show that several Washington think tanks specifically related to the band exist.

The band's concerts are notoriously violent, often resulting in harm to a good portion of the crowd. Even their attempts at charity result in numerous deaths, such as the laser light show that butchered the London Philharmonic orchestra during a benefit concert. The premiere episode gives an example of this: a metal box that serves as the band's stage is airlifted and dropped on location, but misses the landing area and crushes a good portion of the crowd, both by virtue of its landing and by its subsequent opening. Several searing hot coffee and cream pitchers are also poured on the crowd, melting their skin off, to fit with the death metal styled coffee jingle being played by the band. Despite the obvious danger, however, people love Dethklok's concerts so much that they will sign "pain waivers" at the entrance, signing their lives away and releasing the band from legal liability in the very likely case they are killed or dismembered. The band members reside together in a vast mansion called Mordhaus (German for "Murderhouse") in an unspecified mountainous region known as Mordland. According to the Dethklok MySpace page, Mordland is in the United States. The members of Dethklok are portrayed as generally sociopathic and inept in all things non-musical except for negotiating their own contracts. Despite the band's immense success and talent, all of the members have self-esteem issues which surface to varying degrees during the show. Their monumental wealth allows them to get away with just about anything, including murder. The band members share an obsession with "brutality" and "metal-ness," often choosing whether or not to do something based on how "metal" they believe it to be. Two members of the group suffer from extreme alcoholism, so drunkeness is often a plot device.

DethAlbum

DethAlbum will be released September 25th 2007 in both standard and deluxe editions. The album is a combination of full length tracks from the series and completely new songs.

Endorsements

Dethklok, the in-show band, also endorses several real-world music products, including Krank Amplification, Gibson guitars, EMG pickups, and Line 6 gear. On Dethklok's MySpace page, an entry attributed to Nathan Explosion announced that the band is making a real album, called "DethAlbum," featuring drummer Gene Hoglan, will be released on September 25th, 2007 along with the DVD of the first season, which releases on October 2nd. According to the blog entry, the "DethAlbum" will feature songs from the show in full length, rather than the shortened versions released via the band's MySpace page. The DethAlbum will also feature never-before heard songs. One of these songs, entitled Hatredcopter, can be found on the European release of the Saw III soundtrack. According to the official Dethklok MySpace, the Gibson Guitar Corporation is also planning on making a Dethklok signature guitar, and Shocker Toys, have announced that they are planning to make action figures based on the band and will have them on hand at San Diego Comic-COn 2007 at booth# 4517. The song Thunderhorse is featured in the game Guitar Hero II by Harmonix and Red Octane as a bonus song.

Guest appearances

The series often has real-life musicians doing guest voices on the show. Among these are James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica, Emilie Autumn, Jeff Loomis, Steve Smyth, and Warrel Dane of Nevermore, Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott, King Diamond, and Cannibal Corpse frontman George 'Corpsegrinder' Fisher.

References to real bands

Nearly every episode features several passing references to other real-world metal bands in the form of names, places, or general behavior on the part of the characters.

A grocery store is named after the Finnish metal band Finntroll. (The Curse of Dethklok)

Nathan Explosion mentions the titles of three songs by Cannibal Corpse over the microphone in Fintrolls - "Price check, clean-up aisle 6. Rotted Body Landslide. And don't forget our special sale on Every Bone Broken chicken! Hurry! Enjoy our tasty Hammer Smashed Face. Aisle 3." (The Curse of Dethklok)

Dethklok find themselves in Espoo, Finland. This is where Finnish band Children of Bodom is from. The troll emerges from the lake, which is a reference to Lake Bodom. (Dethtroll)

The band and their families go out to eat at Burzum's, referring to well known black metal band Burzum. (Dethfam)

The store at which Murderface buys his grandfather an electric wheelchair is named Gorgoroth's, after the black metal band Gorgoroth. (Dethfam)

The band members and their families go to a mini-golf park named after the Swedish black metal band Marduk. (Dethfam)

Nathan Explosion dreams he is employed at Dimmu Burger, a fast food chain named after Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir. (Go Forth and Die)

Nathan Explosion takes his GED at Carpathian Forest High, a reference to the Norwegian black metal band Carpathian Forest. (Go Forth and Die)

Pickles' former band Snakes and Barrels refers to Guns N' Roses. The bassist, who wears a top hat and an open leather jacket, refers to Slash. (Snakes and Barrels)

The title of the episode "Dethstars" is a reference to Swedish industrial metal band Deathstars.

The head of the film studio is called James Grishnackh, a reference to Varg Vikernes's (Burzum) pseudonym, Count Grishnackh. (Dethstars)

The production company for Blood Ocean is called Behemoth Productions, a reference to Polish black metal band Behemoth. (Dethstars)

The actor J.F. Amarth may be named after the Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth. (Dethstars)

In a TV show clip in Dethstars, the actors are called "Valerie Vrangsinn", "James Cronos" and "Lupe Asesino". (Dethstars)

The band plays in Danzig, a major Polish city which is also the name of a metal band fronted by Misfits/Samhain front man Glenn Danzig. (The Metalocalypse Has Begun)

The infamous suicide of Mayhem vocalist, Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin) is referenced in the first episode. Toki says “He blow he brain in.” then Skwisgaar corrects him, “He blow he brain out.”, “Whatever, it make great album cover!” Toki replies. This is a reference to the Mayhem bootleg album ‘Dawn of the Black Hearts’, a picture of Deads suicide was used for the cover. (The Curse of Dethklok)

In the episode, "Birthday Dethday", Skwisgaar mutters for two seconds to Murderface about playing his records backwards and killing himself. This statement is a reference to a case involving Judas Priest where a fan committed suicide after hearing the words "do it" in the backwards version of the song.

The way the band spells Death is a reference to Megadeth

Pickles' former band, "Snakes and Barrels" has a similar name to Canadian band Rush's album "Snakes and Arrows."

Voice actors

Brendon Small – Nathan Explosion, Pickles, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Charles Ofdensen and others

Tommy Blacha – William Murderface, Toki Wartooth, Dr. Rockso, and others

Mark Hamill – Senator Stampingston, Jean-Pierre, Mr. Selatcia, and others

Victor Brandt – General Crozier, Cardinal Ravenwood, and others

Cameos

Laraine Newman ("The Curse of Dethklok") – "News Reporter," "Grandma," "GMILF," ("Dethfam") – "Rose Explosion (Nathan's Mom)," "Pickles' Mom," "Serveta Skwigelf (Skwisgaar's Mom)"

Jon Schnepp ("Birthdayface or Happy Dethday") - "Dr. Gibbits," ("Skwisklok") – "Video Director"

Laura Silverman ("Girlfriendklok") – "Rebecca Nightrod," ("Dethstars") - Sitcom Actress

Andy Richter ("Dethstars") – "J.F. With a few exceptions, most of the people they meet are either killed or horribly mutilated, often by sheer coincidence.

Prince Henry of Denmark – The young and stupid heir to the throne of Denmark. His idol Murderface headbutted him during a concert, fracturing his skull. His face was autographed by Skwisgaar, injuring him further. He was last of the Danish royalty at the time of his mother's death from mercury poisoning.

Queen of Denmark - Prince Henry's mother. Bears a resemblance to Queen Elizabeth, the current Queen of England. At Murderface's birthday, she tries a sample of the mercury frosting before Jean-Pierre could stop her. Almost immediately, she vomits up pieces of her own flesh and died instantly. Although mercury does not make one do that in reality, people who meet Dethklok usually die equally gruesome deaths.

Mustakrakish, the Lake Troll – A lake troll risen from its thousand-year sleep by Dethklok when they took passages from a "Finnish Necronomicon" to make the lyrics for a song. The song was intended to be offered as a new national anthem in apology for almost destroying Finland on a previous tour. Instead, it awoke the Mustakrakish who terrorized nearby towns. After a failed attempt at a death metal lullaby, Mustakrakish died after tearing its organs out of its own throat and chest in an attempt to dislodge Murderface's Dethphone from its airway. Voiced by Metallica frontman James Hetfield.

Finnish bartender – Nameless bartender who helps Dethklok defeat Mustakrakish the Troll by introducing them to acoustic instruments (or as Skwisgaar and Toki call them, "grandspa's guitars"), in order to put the troll back to sleep after it destroys the power grid. He was eaten by the troll. Voiced by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.

Lorkey the Sailor – A sea captain that trains Dethklok to be funny for their comedy routines. Committed suicide after realizing he couldn't teach them any more. Voiced by Metallica frontman James Hetfield.

Nick Ibsen – A TV personality resembling Larry King. He was killed by electrocution through a pool of his own blood, giving Nathan inspiration for the song "Bloodtrocuted."

Serveta Skwigelf – Former Miss Sweden 1956, and the neglectful, promiscuous single mother of Skwisgaar.

Anja and Reverend Aslaug Wartooth – The extremely religious parents of Toki. They live in an abandoned village near Lillehammer, Norway. They never speak, smile, or show any emotion whatsoever. However, they have been briefly shown screaming towards the end of the episode "Dethfam."

Stella and Thunderbolt Murderface – Grandparents who raised William after the chainsaw murder/suicide of his parents. Thunderbolt suffered a massive stroke some time in the past (believed to be approximately “30 years ago”, as suggested by the lyrics he has in Dethfam) and Stella tows him in a wagon behind her Rascal scooter until Murderface buys him a wheelchair controlled by blinking. It is worth noting that Thunderbolt Murderface "sings" the only actual written lyrics of the song "Dethfam."

Calvert and Molly – Pickles' parents. They reside in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

Seth – Pickles' older brother. An ex-con who constantly tries to make money off of Pickles' fame.

Rose and Oscar Explosion – Nathan's parents. They live in Victory Gardens, an armed forces retirement community in Florida.

Dr. Jonathan Twinkletits (pronounced "twink-LET-its," deliberately avoiding the obvious pronunciation) – An insane band therapist hired to keep Dethklok from having another fight on-stage. He awards the band members with banana stickers for good behavior.Former member of a band known as the Amazlingtons, whom he killed after they disbanded. When he attempted to kill Dethklok after they fired him, he slipped on a banana sticker and fell into Mordhaus' front yard, where he was eaten by the "yard wolves."

Antonio "Tony" DiMarco Thunderbottom – Bassist from Snakes n' Barrels. A former alcoholic and drug addict, now sober. He was driven insane by the military-developed drug "Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake." Voiced by Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott.

Sammy "Candynose" Twinskins – Drummer from Snakes n' Barrels. Formerly addicted to cocaine, but has since become sober. He was driven insane by the military-developed drug "Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake." Voiced by Nevermore singer Warrel Dane.

Snizzy "Snazz" Bullets – Rhythm Guitar player from Snakes n' Barrels. Suffers from partial facial paralysis due to hallucinogen and heroin abuse. He was driven insane by the military-developed drug "Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake." Voiced by Nevermore guitarist Steve Smyth.

Eric and Edgar Jomfrune – Two brothers from Sandusky, Ohio who dropped out of Harvard to become dedicated Dethklok fans. Proprietors of diefordethklok.com, the biggest Dethklok fan site in existence. They try to blackmail Dethklok by recording one of their exclusive songs and threatening to release it on the Internet. Eric's head was shot off by one of Dethklok's sniper roadies. Edgar, on the other hand, seemingly managed to evade every sniper bullet despite being in a wheelchair. It is currently unknown if he is still alive.

Fat Kid/Fatty/Fatty Ding-Dong/Fat Tits (the list goes on and on) – Feral mutant child adopted by Dethklok in a misguided attempt to get a tax write-off. He does not speak, communicating only through piglike squeals and grunts. They treat him like a pet rather than a person. Nathan even went so far as to neuter him in an attempt to calm him down, arguing that it is less Nazi-like than limiting his sugar intake. Responsible for cutting the London Philharmonic Orchestra in half with beams from Dethklok's "Mother-Laser-Fucking Light Show." He was killed by feral cats after being left on an island which Dethklok had earlier dubbed the "Dethklok Home for Wayward Kitties."

Sergio Pampenheiser – Television personality selling quality guitars on TV. It is likely that Sergio is a reference to the musician-turned-guitar-salesman Esteban, who is famous for selling quality guitars at affordable prices on television shopping networks.

216 – Silent government agent sent by General Crozier to kill Dethklok disguised as one of their workers. Killed two Dethklok employees while trying to get to Dethklok. He was impaled on Murderface's codpiece after being tripped by the dwarfish Dethklok employee who was also identified as number 216.

Mashed Potato Johnson – The oldest living blues guitarist. Supposedly made a deal with the devil for blues talent. Parody of Robert Johnson.

The Blues Devil – A being to whom people sell their souls (or in Dethklok's case, a $5 Hot Topic gift card) in exchange for fame in the blues genre.

Prayer Bolt – Christian rock band whose show Dethklok attended to help Murderface find religion. The lead singer was impaled when he stage dived onto a board exposed by Toki.

Juliette Sarmansadandle – Dying, wheelchair-bound little girl whose last wish is to meet Toki. She makes Toki a DVD with her playing a Guitar Hero guitar that causes him to flash back to his own childhood and realize that being a kid is "brutal," but she is already dead by the time he finally assents to meet her.

Rebecca Nightrod – Nathan's demanding, shrewish girlfriend, a professional tennis player turned sitcom actress and model. She is controlling and never allows Nathan to speak, and he admits that he is afraid of her and his hatred for her is "the most brutal thing ever." When he finally prepares to break up with her, she falls down several flights of stairs, ending up disfigured and in a coma, which makes Nathan avoid ending their relationship (she is now the "ultimate" girlfriend since she can no longer terrorize him).

James Grishnack – Head of Behemoth Productions, which produced Dethklok's horrifically bad $500,000,000 film, Blood Ocean. Grishnack insisted on its release so he could get his money back, even after the band ordered it to be shelved in order to preserve their image. Dethklok's helicopter broke an oil pump while leaving the premiere of the film and the only print of Blood Ocean went up in flames along with everything else when Grishnack's cigar fell to the ground. His face melted off during the fire, but a newspaper says he lived through it. His name is a reference to the alter ego of Varg Vikernes, "Count Grishnackh."

Adam Nergal - The upbeat, sincere director of Blood Ocean. Due to not understanding Skwisgaar, he makes a deal to direct the best he can if Skwisgaar can "say those words as best as he can"; Unfortunately, he is subsequently fired for breach of contract which, as stated by Pickles, read that he is not allowed to direct, note, or berate Dethklok because "it sickens them", as well as not being allowed to approach the band. After realizing he's fired, he eventually hangs himself (an idea given to him by Toki). His name is a dual reference to Adam Darski, or "Nergal", the founder, lyricist, main composer, frontman and manager of blackened death metal band Behemoth.

J.F. Amarth – An elderly, respected actor hired to appear in Dethklok's film. He was impaled with a forklift driven by Pickles, although it is uncertain if this act killed him, as he still appeared in the film. His name is a reference to the Swedish Viking-metal band, Amon Amarth.

216's Brother – A psychotic sociopath who wears a metal mask, first seen in a slaughterhouse surrounded by dismembered people hanging from hooks (including one live person he was in the middle of cutting open). General Crozier recruits him for the assault on the Dethwater concert, supposedly so he can avenge his brother's death, although Crozier has ulterior motives. As he prepares to kill Skwisgaar and Toki, he himself is seriously wounded by Ofdensen (his right arm broken, stabbed in the side, and kicked into a body of water), although such injuries would not necessarily be fatal.

This entry is from Wikipedia. He is first shown talking to Dethklok about neutering the Fat Kid in "Fat Kid at the Detharmonic." He advises against their idea of neutering and suggests to Dethklok to lower the amount of sugar his diet. To this, Pickles responded that they couldn't do that, as it would be Nazi-like. The doctor finally neuters the Fat Kid with much reluctance. Secondly, the doctor is shown in "Girlfriendklok," attending to Rebecca Nightrod after her accident. He tells Nathan "Well, she's in a coma, and if you want to talk to her, she can hear you... whatever." Note that the doctor that appears in "Mordland," who is shown just before performing the procedure to replace Nathan's liver due to his excessive drinking, is a different doctor.

This entry is from Wikipedia. He does cocaine, a fact that he mentions quite loudly and frequently, and which is even the primary theme in his music video. He talks in an irritatingly high-pitched voice. He wears a very tight neon green jumpsuit with cutouts that expose almost his entire torso and, in the back, some of his buttocks. The rest of his outfit includes a combination cap, long wig, KISS-like face paint, furry wristbands and boots, and a spiky red nose. The colors of his clothing and hair sometimes change between episodes, but are always gaudy and fluorescent.

In the episode "Happy Dethday," Dethklok hired him as entertainment for Murderface's birthday party, where he made him a Bootsy Collins Space Bass guitar out of balloons. Not long after, Murderface snapped and began shoving the balloon bass down Rockso's throat, before the Dethklok roadies beat the doctor mercilessly. He reappeared in a short cameo in "Bluesklok" during the Tribunal's presentation as a victim of "celebrity depression."

Dr. Rockso made his proper return in "Dethklown," where he befriends Toki Wartooth. How they became friends isn't elaborated upon, though Toki says he thinks Dr. Rockso is funny and he likes to laugh. After Ofdensen throws him out of Mordhaus and orders the roadies to 'put the boots to him medium style', the Tribunal hires Dr. Rockso to gather information about Dethklok from the inside. Rockso succeeds in taking numerous pictures of Mordhaus, using a camera hidden in his hat, but is forced to flee when Ofdensen catches him opening a safe in the manager's office. He is last seen running out of the house and jumping through a window amid gunfire. Ofdensen opts not to have anyone kill him, ordering the roadies instead to "see where he goes." He lived to report back to the Tribunal, but what he found was not revealed during the rest of the season.

Rockso seems to be an amalgam of parodies, covering much of rock and roll's most garish personalities, such as KISS, Twisted Sister, and David Lee Roth. He mentions that his video was banned from "music television" because his "junk" can be seen through his jumpsuit, which was also briefly true of MTV and David Lee Roth's "Just a Gigolo" video for being too racy. In the video for "I'm Just a Rock 'n' Roll Clown," Doctor Rockso's high-kicking jump, use of sexy girls, high pitched screams, and surprised mugging for the camera all hearken back to Roth's video and on-camera antics.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Dethklok's label sent him to work with the band as a condition for allowing the band to record their new album in a submarine in the Mariana Trench. Knubbler has a long list of felonies, including tax evasion, disfiguring a co-worker's face with acid, and soliciting prostitution and drugs, all of which are supposed to lead to a 25-year sentence. The Tribunal acquired his services as a "man on the inside" to report on Dethklok's actions during the recording. After hearing the track "Mermaid-er" (with his eyes bleeding and glasses breaking due to the volume level), his tune changed, and he began praising Dethklok and the album, promising to report to the label upon his return to the surface. While traveling back, he turned down his planned report to the Tribunal. Afterwards, his eyes exploded from rapid decompression while trying to escape from a giant seahorse, mutated by leaking radioactive fuel from Dethklok's submarine.

In cutaways from the end credits, a newspaper headline said "New Dethklok Album is so awesome, it blinds Producer." Another cutaway from a magazine cover showed Knubbler's supposed resurgence on the music scene, and detailed his eye surgery for his new "dark metal" robotic eyes. In the episode "Dethkomedy," Knubbler (with his new robotic eyes) makes a cameo in the crowd of Dethklok's court case, and is seen laughing at jokes made by the band. He returned in the episode "Dethkids," where he served as the producer for Murderface's long-awaited Planet Piss side project. In addition to their obvious sensory functions, Knubbler's robotic eyes can also look in multiple directions simultaneously, much like a chameleon's, which aids him in operating Dethklok's complicated, high-end mixers.

This entry is from Wikipedia. He is passionately loyal to his employers, having stated that he would rather have his "brain scooped out with a melon baller" than miss the opportunity to "deliver the various cheese snacks to [his] beloved Dethklok", despite the job's inherent risks. According to Skwisgaar, all of the chefs previously employed by Dethklok "has died a horribles deaths," (such as one who had his face smashed in by a hovercraft) a fate that Jean-Pierre has (so far) narrowly avoided.

Jean-Pierre was once a normal stereotypical French chef, but was mangled when a stray firework missile shot into the band's helicopter during a live performance. When the missile detonated, Jean-Pierre was thrown out of the helicopter and straight into the rotor blades. He was mangled to such an extent that his body was split into several pieces, making it necessary to connect them together via a complex and strange-looking machine in order to keep him alive, which cost Dethklok $10,000 a day. After realizing that they couldn't feed themselves the band sewed him back together, albeit very poorly. The act gave Nathan inspiration for a song, aptly titled "Sewn Back Together Wrong," in addition to giving Jean-Pierre a hideous and mutilated appearance (some parts were sewn on backward). Despite the dubious quality of his reconstruction, Jean-Pierre returned to work enthusiastically and his current condition does not appear to have adversely affected his skills as a chef.

Jean-Pierre is indirectly responsible for the death of the Queen of Denmark; having been asked by Nathan to bake a "metal" cake for Murderface's birthday, he took the request literally and made a cake with mercury frosting. Though he warned people not to sample the frosting, as it would kill them, the Queen took a taste before he could stop her. She subsequently died of mercury poisoning.

This entry is from Wikipedia. They all wear black hoods and black uniforms, and in general resemble medieval executioners; the pilot of Dethklok's helicopter seems to be the exception. In order to prove their loyalty to Dethklok, they have a Dethklok emblem branded onto the backs of their necks. They always refer to the members of Dethklok as "my lord(s)" or "my master(s)" (or in the case of the Mordhaus librarian, "sweetie") and are in turn referred to by their numeric designation. They are killed as frequently as any other people who come into contact with Dethklok; in the episode "Murdering Outside the Box," Skwisgaar mentions that Level 2 employees get a Viking funeral, though just what identifies them as such is unclear.

They faithfully do Dethklok's bidding, beating and/or killing whomever Dethklok or Ofdensen ask them to as well as performing more mundane tasks such as cleaning up after the band and general maintenance. In "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," they also function as an army for the band, fighting with swords and other medieval weaponry despite the fact that they carry guns (50 caliber sniper rifles) in their estate. Dethklok's massive helicopters serve as troop transports for them, dropping hundreds at a time onto the battlefield. That they were able to defeat all but five of the heavily-armed military force indicates at least decent skill on their part, though their superior numbers likely helped.

Curiously, the submarine used by Dethklok to record their underwater album was crewed by what appeared to be members of the Russian Navy, as opposed to the roadies seen at Mordhaus and elsewhere.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Nathan Explosion describes one of his jobs as talking the band out of the terrible ideas they come up with while drunk. Ofdensen's first appearance was in "Dethwater", where he talks to the band through a video monitor. He acts as manager, lawyer, and advisor to Dethklok, protecting the band against everything from slowing record sales to themselves. In "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," he refers to the band as his "bread and butter," indicating his protection of the band is at least as much for his own sake as theirs. He is one of the few individuals seen to interact with Dethklok for any significant length of time and evade subsequent mutilation or death. It was hinted at in "Dethklown" that he lives in Mordhaus with the band, as he was seen wearing a bathrobe while lecturing Toki in the middle of the night with the rest of the band.

Despite his job description, Ofdensen usually supports Dethklok's violence when it doesn't happen in public view or if the band is legally exempt from responsibility, like at their concerts. He has no problems leading two blackmail-threatening Dethklok fans to their deaths in "Mordland," even producing a half-grin while ordering their execution, and later allows the band to blame their rampant embezzlement from their own company on a recently-killed employee. In the episode "Dethklown," he also has Dr. Rockso beaten without any prompting by the band and later threatens him. General Crozier even warns Dr. Rockso that Ofdensen is especially dangerous. In "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," this is seen to be true; he displays exceptional skill in close quarters combat, single-handedly disarming and possibly killing 216's brother, despite the latter being much more physically imposing and presumably well trained. Ofdensen broke the man's arm, stabbed him with his own knife while he was still holding it, and kicked him into freezing waters, while only sustaining a shallow cut and a couple of hits himself. Ofdensen also set an army of Dethklok's roadies upon the military forces sent by Crozier.

Ofdensen's knowledge of the conspiracies surrounding Dethklok is unknown. His office has a safe containing classified information, presumably regarding the band's activities; however, the contents of the safe are never seen. He also seems to have some sort of grasp of the Tribunal's activities, both catching Dr. Rockso as a spy and sitting back to "see where he goes" when Rockso returns to General Crozier. He also used high-tech surveillance to monitor the band's safety during their ill-fated performance of Dethwater in the first season finale, and had an elaborate escape and counterstrike prepared when military forces attacked Dethklok.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Oddly enough, he always recommends inaction, ordering the Tribunal to allow what is occurring to take place undisturbed. General Crozier describes Selatcia's background as "murky." Selatcia apparently has either supernatural or telekinetic powers, which he displays in "The Metalocalypse Has Begun." Having discovered the treachery of Crozier and Ravenwood, he telekinetically causes five soldiers' heads to burst. He then does the same to Ravenwood's eyes and makes him regurgitate his own intestines. In contrast, he only puts Crozier to sleep, claiming he needs Crozier alive. He then disappears with the surrounding fog before anyone can discover his presence.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Often, he claims to have had prophetic visions of the outcomes of Dethklok's current activities, though they don't seem to come true too often. During the episode "Skwisklok," Ravenwood admits that he is looking forward to Skwisgaar's pay-per-view event, as he has taken up playing the guitar. He has dreams in which Selatcia speaks to him in an unknown language and interprets this as a sign that he would die. This prediction seems to be true in "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," when Selatcia telekinetically blinds him and causes his intestines to prolapse for his betrayal. Though this would be fatal in reality, other characters on the show have survived even more severe injuries, albeit barely or in severely disfigured form. Before this interruption, he is seen giving an incantation (specifically the first line of the "Lord's Prayer" in Latin) that caused him to glow, showing he possesed some level of supernatural ability.

This entry is from Wikipedia. He holds the rank of General, marked by his five stars, Mr. Selatcia stated that his job within the Tribunal was gathering information and nothing more, although Crozier is not happy with this. He brings a military viewpoint to the tribunal's dealings with Dethklok, and usually recommends military action, often in the form of assassination. However, Stampingston once pointed out that approximately half of the military are rabid Dethklok fans. General Crozier goes against the Tribunal's wishes several times, first by sending an assassin to Mordhaus to eliminate Dethklok, and deploying an entire army to one of Dethklok's concerts to kill them. Despite his desperation to destroy Dethklok, he usually has the most realistic predictions, sometimes questioning if certain things the band does are really that dangerous. He and Cardinal Ravenwood also form an alliance against Mr. Selatcia. In the first season finale, he launches a full-scale military strike against Dethklok at their live performance of Dethwater. When Selatcia discovers this betrayal, he severely disfigures Ravenwood but only puts Crozier to sleep, claiming he is still needed.

Though his actual status within the military is not elaborated upon aside from his rank, Crozier clearly has influence over much of the army's resources, as he was able to procure several platoons of soldiers and Tanks, along with fighter jets for an assault on one of Dethklok's concerts.

Of his medals, ribbons and tabs, the only four that resemble actual awards are the Kuwait Liberation Campaign ribbon, the Special Forces Tab, the Ranger Tab and Combat Infantryman Badge. With the exception of the Kuwait Liberation ribbon, General Crozier's campaign ribbons do not closely match any issued by any branch of the US military.

This entry is from Wikipedia. In their first meeting, all they know is the information given in the show's theme song (word for word), but they learn much more through research on fansites and other resources. At the first meeting, they mention that Dethklok's lineup resembles figures in an ancient Sumerian prophecy. General Crozier states, "If they're the ones we think they are, I think we should exterminate them immediately," implying that there may be more to Dethklok than an insanely popular band with an appetite for destruction. This may or may not relate to the prophecy, as Ravenwood felt the need to remind the other members about it. The episode "The Metalocalypse Has Begun" suggests that the ultimate event in the prophecy is an "apocalypse of metal."

The group meets in a room dominated by nine television sets stacked in a three-by-three square, which usually functions as one big TV but will divide to illustrate various points. The screens show news reports, Dethklok footage, background profiles, and other usable information. The meeting room seems to be underground, as it has no windows and no visible doors. A section of the wall opens to allow people to enter and exit. There are also several adjoining rooms. On the wall is a logo depicting an eagle sitting on top of the world.

The groups's briefings are led by Senator Stampingston, who usually has experts speak based on whatever Dethklok is doing in the episode. He is Irish-American. He speaks with a distinct Wisconsin accent and bears a strong hatred for his older brother, Seth, whom his parents Calvert and Molly always brag about despite the fact that Seth is an ex-con living above their garage, among his other failings. He is the only member of Dethklok whose last name (and, possibly, real first name) is unknown. Pickles joined Dethklok after singing and playing lead guitar in the L.A. rock band Snakes 'n' Barrels, which collapsed due to excessive drug use; his bandmates have mocked him for his stereotypical "hair metal" appearance during his time with Snakes n' Barrels. Pickles refers to things and people as "douchebags" when he is frustrated or upset. In "The Curse of Dethklok", he calls Skwisgaar and Toki "douchebags" because they don't know what a grocery store is, then apologizes and mentions it's because he has "low blood sugar". He seems to be the most socially capable of the band, although he occasionally hallucinates or launches into neurotic rants. His hair is styled into dreadlocks with a combover skullet. Pickles always wears tennis shoes, whereas the rest of the band wears boots.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Because of this, he is also immune to the government-created psychotropic drug known as "Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake" that erased the minds of every other member of Snakes 'n' Barrels. Despite his drug immunity, he is clearly not immune to the negative effects of liquor. He seems to be an alcoholic of almost equal caliber to Nathan, and is often seen surrounded by many bottles of liquor. When rumors were spread saying that he didn't drink as much as he said, he decided to drink even more than usual in order to disprove them. He also appears to be an asthmatic, as he was once seen using an inhaler, but he claimed it was only a stress-related relapse, and that it was the first time he had used it in fifteen years. Pickles has an endorsement deal for nickels with the United States Treasury; his nickels are called "Pickles' Nickles."

noreply@blogger.com (V.V. However, Murderface improves noticeably after Pickles introduces him to the concept of "freeballing," prompting the rest of the band to consider including his bass on their next album. He plays a black five-string Gibson Thunderbird Studio Bass with a white pickguard. He is able to play bass with his penis (which he refers to as his "hog"). Band mates also refer to him as a "Cock Slap Bassist." He was raised by his grandparents Thunderbolt and Stella Murderface after he lost his mother and father in a chainsaw murder-suicide, carried out by his father when William was just an infant. People usually refer to him as just "Murderface," except for his grandparents and people who formally address him. He has a heavy lateral lisp and a diastema, as well as tattoos on his stomach which state "Pobody's Nerfect" and "This Mess Is A Place."

Murderface has a habit of urinating inappropriately (on a display of olives at the grocery store and on journalist Nick Ibsen's shoes) or referring to urination, and even has a one-man side project called Planet Piss, to which he seems to have very little real commitment. He is usually seen carrying a knife, which he uses to eat, mutilate, destroy, and do other things. According to the Tribunal's expert, Dr. Gibbons, Murderface is a self-destructive personality who expresses his self-loathing through "bodily mutilation, tattooing, alcohol abuse, and coprophilia." According to Pickles, he is a nihilist and likes to collect "morbid crap" such as torture devices and Civil War memorabilia. Murderface has at least some familiarity with firearms as he recognizes the sound of his "driving gun" (an antique Mauser C96 handgun) after hearing it fired. Murderface endorses a brand of doorknobs known as "Murderknobs.". He is also, somehow, a notary public.

Despite outwardly being the angriest and most violent member of Dethklok, Murderface is arguably the most sensitive and insecure. He is convinced that he is hideous and unloveable, and refers to himself as "the fat one." He seems to go through periods of loneliness and depression, which are only magnified by his bandmates' complete inability to react to his emotions. For example, when Pickles goes on a reunion with his old band, Murderface forlornly announces to his bandmates, "I miss Pickles".

While in high school, Murderface's principal allowed him to play bass, drink, and smoke dope to earn his high school degree after Murderface threatened to cut his eyes out. He regularly throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way, which has resulted in several destroyed bass guitars, and one destroyed guitar of Toki's. He owns a custom-made dungeon/torture chamber, and supposedly spends most of his time there when not with the band. Murderface thinks he is a great speller, but demonstrated his lack of skills in his preparation and appearance on "Celebrity Spelling Bee." (For example, he misspells "confusion" as "k-u-n fusion".) After a near-death experience (falling drunk from the Murdercycle, and subsequent mayhem) he was prompted to seek faith in several churches, including the Church of Satan and the Church of the Atheists. Eventually he decided that all religions were "the same boring crap" and gave up his search.

Murderface appears to be an American Civil War buff. When Dethklok gave Murderface President Kennedy's presidential limo as a birthday present, they replaced the driver's seat with the chair in which President Lincoln was assassinated, eliciting such happiness that he cried blood. Murderface also owns a pair of original shoes from the Civil War, which Dethklok's adopted son Fatty Ding-Dongs ruined, provoking tremendous anger. Finally, when Murderface was lying in a hospital bed after his motorcycle accident, Skwisgaar returned a borrowed copy of Ken Burns' Civil War documentary which he hadn't watched.

This entry is from Wikipedia. Unlike the other members, Dethklok is the first band he's been in. Similar to Skwisgaar, Toki can physically no longer play the guitar slowly. He plays a black Gibson Flying-V guitar. He hails from an abandoned village near Lillehammer, Norway, the product of a seemingly unholy union between Anja and the Reverend Aslaug Wartooth. Both of his parents dress in a very Old World style (much like the Amish), their faces vaguely recalling the painting American Gothic. During the episode in which Toki's parents visit, Toki becomes catatonic and uncommuncative for the duration of their visit. It is almost implied that they communicate telepathically. He has pictures of them hung in his room. Cardinal Ravenwood mentions seeing "father killing son in the most brutal manner" when told of Toki's parents. In "Dethkids," a flashback shows Toki as a child, and his mother slaps him.

Toki's personality is more child-like, innocent, and good-natured compared to the rest of the band, which is why he is a popular icon to children. He has several naīve beliefs, such as the idea that adult teeth will grow back because baby teeth do, and occasionally has whimsical fantasies, such as singing a Beatles-esque song under the sea with "underwater friends." He also views sexuality in a more innocent way than his bandmates; in the episode "Girlfriendklok," while the other members of Dethklok want to host the United States Pornography Awards for obviously sexual reasons, Toki only wants to "make out withs thems beautiful goils."

Despite his more innocent personality, he manages to fit in with the rest of the band, although they do tend to treat him like a younger brother. The band also seems to put Toki into a lot more danger than the rest of the band, such as in the episode "Dethwater," they put Toki into a chamber filled with liquid oxygen and the doctor warns the rest of the band that he could die. [original research?] Toki has shown similar violent tendencies to those of his bandmates. He asked a priest from the Church of Satan for revenge on Rachael Ray from the Food Network (in the form of her eyes falling out or her tits falling off) for unspecified reasons, and was indirectly responsible for the death of the lead singer of the Christian rock band Prayer Bolt. [21] In the episode "Girlfriendklok," he also beat Nathan with a baseball bat, tasered him, and threatened him by aiming a crossbow at his crotch. Like Skwisgaar, Toki is a nihilist; however, they both seem to share some interest or moderate belief in Norse mythology. In the episode "Skwisklok," he mentions his belief in a tooth fairy equivalent: an Ancient Norse God called "Orthar the Tooth-collector."

Toki and Skwisgaar often analyze the philosophical elements of the episodes, such as the male sex drive in "Girlfriendklok," the pros and cons of fatherhood in "Fat Kid at the Detharmonic," and the yard wolves' eating rituals in "Performanceklok." On more than one occasion, Toki has told Skwisgaar that he hates him; it is possible he means it. (Skwisgaar frequently belittles Toki, and insults his guitar-playing on numerous occasions; Toki resents it, but at least in the context of Toki's confession of hate in "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," it appears that "I hate you" is a metal universe equivalent of "I love you.") He is Norwegian with brown hair and blue eyes and a tendency to slur his words, although his English is somewhat better than Skwisgaar's.

Aside from playing guitar, he spends much of his free time building scale models. He has an endorsement deal with "Willard Wonky Candy-Hand Candy" brand candies, who ship him large amounts of free candy as part of his payment. Because of this, he develops a very extreme case of diabetes which causes him to slip in and out of comas (at least for the length of the episode). Toki also appears to have an endorsement deal for a "Metal Bits"-brand cereal in the first episode, as there is a cereal box in his shopping cart with his face on it. In "Bluesklok" and "Girlfriendklok," Toki appears toned and muscular, while the rest of Dethklok ranges from skinny (Skwisgaar, Pickles) to overweight (Nathan, Murderface). Unlike the rest of Dethklok, Toki tans instead of becoming sunburned.

Fairly frequently, Toki makes statements or is placed in situations with homoerotic subtext through his naïveté and misunderstanding of English. An example is mistaking the term "blowjob" to mean "nosebleed" and proudly announcing, "I can gives myself a real cool blowjob!" In another instance, when Skwisgaar refers to Murderface's party as a sausage festival, Toki believes he means an actual sausage festival and proclaims "I love sausage festival!" Also, in "Murdering Outside the Box" Toki purchases a vibrating strap-on dildo, thinking it was a codpiece (which Murderface points out, saying "Uh... That's a dildo... That's a strap-on dildo").

This entry is from Wikipedia. Despite this talent, he can't read music, which he blames on "music dyslex-kia", although he is at one point seen practicing with a metronome. He plays a black Gibson Explorer with a white pickguard that appears to be waterproof. He practices his guitar constantly and in many odd places, such as in church and in the hot tub; the episode "Dethklown" even shows him playing in his sleep. He often disparages Toki's skill as a guitarist. He seems to dislike the Danish even though he often confuses them with the Dutch. He is also severely allergic to cilantro, which is made apparent when Nathan's barbecue sauce with cilantro in it is poured on his hands before a show and he almost immediately goes into anaphylaxis (specifically, his face and hands swelled dramatically).

Skwisgaar is from Sweden, and he consequently possesses a strong accent. He has a very poor grasp of the English language, not knowing relatively simple terms such as "image" and "embezzle". He frequently adds an 's' to the end of many words, and conversely drops the letter from some words that require them, such as "copies" and "Pickles." This tendency becomes worse when he is agitated. His English is so awkward that, during the filming of Dethklok's movie Blood Ocean, the producers were unable to understand his lines, and ultimately, Skiwsgaar's voice was completely dubbed out of the film.

He was born to the Miss Sweden of 1956, Serveta Skwigelf (in real life, Miss Sweden of 1956 was Ingrid Goude), and does not know his father. Senator Stampingston mentions that "her neglect helped form the world's fastest guitarist," and in an interview, Skwisgaar claims that his inspiration comes from his hatred of his mother. He resents her because of her promiscuity, although he takes after her in this regard.

Skwisgaar is referred to as the band's Lothario; he often brags about his many sexual conquests to Toki (going so far as to make the claim of having sex with at least 500 women the last time he was in Finland), who resents it. Skwisgaar is attracted primarily to older women, once propositioning an elderly grandmother in a grocery store for sex, and a television announcer mentions his desire for "MILFs, GMILFs, and soon-to-be-MILFs," as well as "acquiring a stable of FBLs." Skwisgaar implies that he never wears underwear, both because it is common in Sweden and because it is sexually exciting. His bedroom is the only room in Mordhaus that is not decorated in a very dark neo-Gothic style; his all-white, sparsely furnished room reflects the Swedish Modern aesthetic. He is a self-described nihilist, although he sometimes uses references to Norse mythology.

Skwisgaar owns a collection of bizarre exotic guitars, seen in "Skwisklok." These include a "Swiss Army-tar," an "ant farm-itar," the Gibson Excaliburtar, and a guitar supposedly made of wood from the True Cross. In "Dethtroll" and "Bluesklok," he asserts that he hates playing acoustic guitars, which he and Toki both call "Grandspa's guitars."

Skwisgaar has been in a large number of bands prior to joining Dethklok, including Agnostic Priest, Gangogar Aldilio, Al Il El, Gognogmug, Alugdug, Fuck-face Academy, Sausage Assassin, Financially Raped, and Smugly Dismissed, to name a few. Other than that, he claims to have been in "pretty much every band, ever." Like Pickles' affinity for the word "douchebags," Skwisgaar refers to things he hates as "dildos," even using the word as an adjective.

His hands are shown being insured for ten billion dollars, one billion for each finger. Supposedly, he has to wear "protective, solid-crystal, oxygenating hand-aquariums" when not playing, or the policy is void; however, the other band members end up breaking them. In the same interview where he mentions his hatred of his mother, Skwisgaar also states that he has two side projects, a Harry Potter tribute band called 10 Points to Gryffindor, and a nudist Civil War styled band called Depantsification Proclamation, although neither has ever been seen on the show.

This entry is from Wikipedia. According to intelligence gathered by the Tribunal, Nathan did not learn to speak until the age of five and was an unremarkable student in high school, excelling only in frog dissection and football. He eventually dropped out without earning his GED, although the varsity jacket he is seen wearing during his high school years indicates that, had he graduated, it would have been sometime during the 1990s.

Nathan is a binge-drinking alcoholic, once even going into a pub and ordering exactly 100 beers to drink in a single sitting, although he was not served, due to the fact Dethklok had summoned a lake troll. Because of his excessive drinking, Nathan has to undergo repeated liver replacement surgery, vomiting blood on at least one occasion due to his condition. Probably related to his drinking is his steadily increasing weight; one tabloid estimated him at 250 pounds and climbing. Whenever called upon to speak publicly for more than a few brief sentences, Nathan quickly degenerates into incoherence and becomes frustrated; however, he is nonetheless capable of reading and reciting all of Shakespeare's works for a Books on Tape collection. Several of the characters in the show address Nathan as "Tonto", in joking reference to the pidgin English spoken by The Lone Ranger's sidekick and the fact that Nathan speaks in short, simple sentences.[citation needed] Occasionally, he is seen wearing glasses while reading or using his laptop.

Nathan often describes things in terms of whether or not they are "brutal" or "metal," and, according to an expert procured by the Tribunal, shares a similar psychological profile as former Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin in his ability to "galvanize the proletariat." Nathan has shown himself to be clueless about most things outside the scope of metal. For instance, he was unaware of the fact that the band could fire their employees. He also believes that the Mariana Trench is located somewhere near the Iberian Peninsula. However, Nathan has proven several times that he is not completely devoid of common sense; he figured out that the band's therapist, Twinkletits, was using the banana stickers as psychological validation, and when Toki's tooth falls out, Nathan explains that it was because Toki was eating too much candy.

Nathan carries a digital recording device, in which he notes any interesting song material he may run across (usually limited to murder or similar acts of brutality). He has exacting standards, and will delete entire finished Dethklok albums if they do not ultimately meet his approval. He also hates wearing watches, and sometimes will buy large amounts of watches just to destroy them. He is always seen with his fingernails painted black. Nathan has his own brand of barbecue sauce known as "Explosion Sauce," a mustardy North Carolina blend with a hint of cilantro, which he is known to drink out of the bottle. He estimates that he only wears underwear approximately 65% of the time.

In "Girlfriendklok," Nathan found a controlling celebrity girlfriend, Rebecca Nightrod, voiced by actress Laura Silverman, who forced him to tone down his behavior. He hated her temper tantrums and demands, and described his hatred of her as much more brutal than his ordinary hate. Though his bandmates tortured him until they convinced him to dump her, a subsequent mishap involving an unusually steep flight of stairs and a broken high heel left her comatose and severely disfigured, after which Nathan described her as "the ultimate girlfriend." It should also be noted for true "Dethheads" that Nathan Explosion sleeps in leather briefs, as seen in episode 13.

noreply@blogger.com (V.V.
